Acceptable Use Policy
Effective: March 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) defines the standards for content and conduct on the dvtd Platform. All users must comply with this AUP. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination without refund.
5.1 Prohibited Poll Content
You may not create polls that:
- Contain, promote, or solicit hate speech, discrimination, or dehumanizing content based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Constitute harassment, intimidation, or targeted abuse of any individual or group
- Promote, glorify, or incite violence, terrorism, or illegal activity
- Contain sexually explicit or pornographic content
- Contain content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors in any way
- Constitute defamation, libel, or malicious falsehoods about identifiable individuals
- Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Constitute spam, coordinated manipulation campaigns, or artificial influence operations
- Are designed to fraudulently collect personal information from voters
5.2 Political and Election Polling
dvtd supports political commentary and public discourse as legitimate and valuable uses of the Platform. However, the following conduct is specifically prohibited:
- Creating polls designed to suppress voter participation in official government elections
- Misrepresenting dvtd poll results as official government or electoral polling data
- Using the Platform as part of a coordinated foreign or domestic election interference campaign
- Creating polls that constitute prohibited election advertising under applicable federal or provincial election law without appropriate disclosure
Poll creators in the political and media sector are responsible for ensuring their use of dvtd poll data complies with applicable Canadian and international election laws, including the Canada Elections Act and applicable provincial legislation. dvtd does not provide legal advice on election law compliance.
5.3 Prohibited Technical Conduct
- Attempting to de-anonymize voters by correlating voting data with external datasets
- Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Platform
- Attempting to exploit, bypass, or reverse-engineer the Platform's security or verification systems
- Launching denial-of-service attacks or any form of platform disruption
- Accessing, scraping, or harvesting Platform data through unauthorized automated means
5.4 Enforcement
dvtd reserves the right, but does not assume the obligation, to monitor Platform content. dvtd may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP at any time, at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice. dvtd is not liable for content created by users.
